Fair Hicks was born at Mousie, Kentucky, on Ground Hog Day, February 2, 1889. He died on May 15, 1980. He was the son of Charles & Elizabeth (Carpenter) Hicks. He was married to Hazel B. Hicks, who survived him. He was a hard working man who held several different jobs during his lifetime and was well respected in the community. He is survived by two brothers, Elder Hicks and Tim Hicks; and one sister, Ida Hicks Rice. He was preceded in death by his parents and three brothers, Isom Hicks, Ballard Hicks, and Tim Hicks; and sisters Nancy Margarette Hicks Handshoe, Eliza Hicks Moore, and Darlene Hicks Conley. He is buried in the William Hicks Cemetery at Mousie, Kentucky, with many of his brothers, sisters, and other members of the extended family.
