Joseph Newton Snook, son of Henry D. and Susanna MOWREY Snook was born February 22, 1875, near Strodes Mills, and lived in Belltown for 35 years before his death. Mr. Snook died at the home of his daughter, Mrs. Warren Snyder at Alfarata after an illness of several months.

Mr. Snook was an employee of Standard Steel Works and engaged as a farmer in Decatur Township.

At the time of Mr. Snook's death, his wife Martha E. STAINS Snook and the following children survived: Mrs. Warren (Marion S.) Snyder, Alfarta; Walter O. Snook, Alfarata, Mrs. Lester (Anna May) Snyder of Belltown, and Fern D. Snook of Belltown.

The following brothers and sisters also survived: Andrew C. Snook of Green Avenue Extended; L. E. (*Lemon Edgar) Snook, Yeagertown; P. N. (*Pearle Norman) Snook, Milroy; Mrs. George (Lucina) Clemens, Lake Park; Mrs. Viola Simmons, Racine, Wisconsin; Mrs. Dorothy Leeper, Burnham. Ten grandchildren also survived.

Funeral services were held at the home of his son, Fern D. Snook of Belltown Sunday, July 4th.
