Charles F. Rudder of Pittsboro died Saturday in General Hospital of a fractured skull, 3 hours after he received injuries in a two-car crash at the west edge of Speedway, Saturday morning.
John H. Burdine of Lizton was the driver of the other car involved in the crash. He is a worker at the Allison Division of General Motors. He received a broken leg and cuts.
The crash occurred west of Lynhurst Drive and the Crawfordsville Road. The Rudder car was traveling east and the Burdine automobile west.
It is reported that Clifford H. Traylor of Indianapolis was driving in a car ahead of the Rudder car. He said he heard brakes squeal and saw the Rudder car roll over but did not witness the actual crash.
Mr. Rudder just returned late in the winter from Korea.
Funeral services were Tuesday afternoon from the Pittsboro Christian Church. Burial was in the Lizton Cemetery.
He is survived by his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Tillie Rudder, one brother and six sisters.
