Mrs. Bertha Haga Combs, 96, died Friday in a Dublin nursing home. Born September 11, 1895 at Grayson County, she was the daughter of the late John and Polly Hollaway Haga. She was a charter member of French's Chapel Pentecostal Holiness Church. She was preceded in death by her husband, William Cam Combs, and a daughter, Bernice Combs. Surviving are three daughters, Mrs. Junior (Lena) Stafford and Mrs. John (Mary) Hash, both of Dublin, and Mrs. Loren (Virginia) Swale of Seattle, WA; three sons, Victor Combs of Pearisburg, Herbert D. Combs of Largo, FL and John W. Combs of Homedale, ID; 16 grandchildren , 32 great grandchildren and two great-great grandchildren. The funeral will be 2 p.m.. today at French's Chapel Pentecostal Holiness Church with the Rev. Billy Akers officiating. Burial will follow in the Virginia Conference Pentecostal Holiness Cemetery, Dublin. A. Vest & Sons Funeral Home, White Gate, is in charge of arrangements.
