The son of Peter and Susan Bechtle (Bechtel) Yoder. A Civil War veteran having enlisted for service as a private in Company I of the 103rd Ohio Volunteer Infantry Regiment, August 19, 1862, at Wadsworth, Ohio(Medina County) for a term of 3 years. Occupation: Farmer. He was mustered out with Company I, June 12, 1865, at Raleigh, North Carolina, at the end of his term of service.
