Mrs. Dempsey was born in Hampton County,SC to the late Albert Hamilton Freeman and Mary Jeanette Mixson Freeman.She was the widow of Frank Berry Dempsey. She retired as cafeteria supervisor at Wade Hampton High School and was a member of Sand Hill Baptist Church.Survivors are two sons Freddie Dempsey and Aaron Dempsey,daughters Valorie Griner, Nadine Linderman and Pansy Wooten, a Brother, Earl Freeman, two sisters, Debbie Brant and Jeanette Ulmer, 15 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by one son J. W. Dempsey, two brothers Thomas Freeman and Ernest Freeman, four sisters Viola F.Johnson, Carrie F. Eubanks, Annie Bell Lee and Alverta F. Mixson. Peeples Rhoden Funeral Home in charge with burial in Sand Hill cemetery.
