Arlene T. Proctor 85 our beloved mother, wife and grandmother died peacefully surrounded by her loving family early Wednesday morning July 20, 2005.

Arlene was born in North Vassalboro, Maine on December 31, 1919 the youngest daughter of George and Aurelie (Dyer) Lessard. She attended schools in North Vassalboro and Winslow High School. In 1940, she married William G. Proctor. She was predeceased by her son , William G. Proctor,Jr. and by her four siblings: George Lessard and Evelyn Sochia of N. Vassalboro, Gloria Poulin of Santa Monica, California and Charles Lessard of Auburn.

She is survived by her husband of 65 years: William G. Proctor and four daughters: Linda Damon and husband David of Waterville, Rebecca Proctor Arp and Harry Arp of Waterville and Amsterdam,Netherlands, Amanda Proctor of Winslow and Emily Proctor and Jeff Braseghini of Dracut, Mass.; her grandchildren: Arlene O'Rourke and husband Kelly of Portland, John Damon of Brunswick, Brian Butler and wife April of Waterville, Melissa Arp of Toronto, Canada, Frank Luce and wife Stacy of Benton, Meridith Webber and Johnny of Belair Maryland, Thomas Levansailor of Sangerville, Christian Lander and wife Wendy of Bellirica, Mass. and Jeremy Lander of Maynard, Mass. and two special cousins: Marie Gagnon of Auburn and Jackie Chandler Roach of Swanton, Vermont plus her sister-in-law Mary Proctor of Winslow and all her ''trucker'' friends.

WATERVILLE -- Arlene T. Proctor, 85, our beloved mother, wife and grandmother died peacefully surrounded by her loving family early Wednesday morning, July 20, 2005.

Arlene was born in North Vassalboro on Dec. 31, 1919, the youngest daughter of George and Aurelie (Dyer) Lessard.

She attended schools in North Vassalboro and Winslow High School. In 1940, she married William G. Proctor. She was a wonderful homemaker, the heart and soul of our family.

She always found the goodness in everyone. In her younger years, she was a Brownie troop leader, PTA secretary and department manager at a W.T. Grant store. In later years, she and her husband spent many winters in Florida. She loved the coast of Maine, especially sailing around Camden.

She was a huge fan of the Red Sox and loved Pedro Martinez. She had a stroke during the American League playoffs, but she still watched every game from her hospital bed with Pedro's picture on the stand beside her.

She was predeceased by her son, William G. Proctor Jr. and by her four siblings, George Lessard and Evelyn Sochia of North Vassalboro, Gloria Poulin of Santa Monica, Calif., and Charles Lessard of Auburn.

She is survived by her husband of 65 years, William G. Proctor and four daughters, Linda Damon and husband, David, of Waterville, Rebecca Proctor Arp and Harry Arp of Waterville and Amsterdam, Netherlands, Amanda Proctor of Winslow and Emily Proctor and Jeff Braseghini of Dracut, Mass.; her grandchildren, Arlene O'Rourke and husband, Kelly, of Portland, John Damon of Brunswick, Brian Butler and wife, April, of Waterville, Melissa Arp of Toronto, Canada, Frank Luce and wife, Stacy, of Benton, Meridith Webber and Johnny of Belair, Md., Thomas Levansailor of Sangerville, Christian Lander and wife, Wendy, of Bellirica, Mass., and Jeremy Lander of Maynard, Mass.; and two special cousins, Marie Gagnon of Auburn and Jackie Chandler Roach of Swanton, Vt.; plus her sister-in-law Mary Proctor of Winslow and all her "trucker" friends.

A heartfelt thank-you goes to the staff at Lakewood Manor for the wonderful care you gave our mother. You are truly exceptional people.

Friends may call from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Friday at Gallant Funeral Home, 10 Elm St., Waterville. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Saturday at Sacred Heart Church, 70 Pleasant St., Waterville. Committal prayers and burial will follow in Pine Grove Cemetery, Waterville.

In lieu of flowers, donations in her memory can be made to the Humane Society, Waterville Area, Drummond Avenue, Waterville, ME 04901.
