He married Marilyn Mae Northcott November 21, 1958 in Detroit.
Mr. Bennett retired from Warren Consolidated Schools after twenty-five years of service.
He honorably served his Country in the US Army during the Korean War from 1951 to 1953 and was awarded the Purple Heart.
He is survived by his wife, Marilyn; two daughters, Dr. Kimberly A. (Barb) Bennett PhD and Nancy E. Bennett, all of Oak Park; two sons, Mark (Kathy) Bennett of Katy, Texas and Lee Bennett of Richmond, Virginia; a brother, Henry (Nancy) Bennett of Canton and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by a brother, Roy.
Visitation will be 4-9 pm on Wednesday in the Marysville Funeral Home. Funeral services will be at 10:30 am on Thursday in the Marysville Funeral Home. The Reverend Jason E. Pittman of First Presbyterian Church will officiate.
Military honors will be conducted under the auspices of the St. Clair County Allied Veterans.
Burial will be in Great Lakes National Cemetery, Holly.
