Mrs. Lydia Duerrwaechter, 83, of Millersville, died Wednesday night at Rocky Knoll Hospital and Sanatarium.She was born Sept. 30, 1883, in the Town of Schleswig, a daughter of the late August and Bertha Wagenknecht Berg. She attended Kiel public school. On Sept. 10, 1903, she married Ernst Duerrwaechter, also of the Town of Schleswig.
The couple resided in Kiel, farmed in the Town of Schleswig before moving to Sheboygan where they lived until 1920. They then moved to Howards Grove to operate a meat market.
After her husband's death in June, 1957, Mrs. Duerrwaechter made her home with a daughter, Mrs. Irmgard Sprenger, of Millersville, until becoming a patient at Rocky Knoll three years ago.
She was a member of Faith United Church of Christ at Erdman, and a member of the Ladies Aid Society of the church.
Surviving are two daughters, Mrs. Irmgard Sprenger, and Mrs. Roman (Noma) Kalk, of Howards Grove; one son, Edgar, of Sheboygan; 10 grandchildren; 13 great-granchildren; three sisters, Mrs. Clara Engle, Miss Mathilda Berg, and Miss Birdie Berg, and one brother, Richard Berg, all of Milwaukee.Two sons, Irvin and Harry, and one sister preceded her in death.
