Maud Amey Shepard, the 14-year-old daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Richard B. Shepard, died of peritonitis at 6:43 yesterday morning at her home, 679 South Main. Her death was very sudden and will be keenly felt be her many friends and companions. Her father and mother are almost heartbroken over their loss.
It was only last Saturday that she began to complain of feeling sick, but on Monday her condition was very serious. Then she seemed to be improving, but took a sudden change for the worse Thursday night and died yesterday mornin.
She has been attending the Grant school. She was a favorite with both her teachers and schoolmates, and has won for herself many honors.
The funeral will take place from her late home at 2:30 Sunday afternoon. Alll friends and relatives are invited to be present at the services.
