Deceased Name: ELMER W. WALTERS: ELMER W. WALTERS, 86, died Tuesday, May 23, 2006, at Harborside Healthcare Center, New Haven. Born in Rochester, he was a painter for Local 469, enjoyed hunting, fishing and also woodworking. He was a member of Emmanuel Lutheran (Soest) Church. Survivors include wife, Geraldine Walters of Fort Wayne; son, James (Sue) Marker of Fort Wayne; daughter, Terry Putman of Fort Wayne; sister, Edith Overmyer of Rochester; six grandchildren; and 14 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, Charles and Media Walters; two brothers; and two sisters. Service is 11 a.m. Saturday at D.O. McComb & Sons Maplewood Park Funeral Home, 4017 Maplecrest Road, with calling one hour prior. The Rev. Albert Bierlein officiating. Calling also from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday at the funeral home. Entombment in Covington Memorial Gardens. Memorials to Emmanuel Lutheran (Soest) Church or Heartland Home Health Care & Hospice.
