Services: A funeral service will be held at Hiers-Baxley Funeral Services, 910 E. Silver Springs Blvd, Ocala on Monday, August 31, 2009 at 10:00am. A visitation will be held at the funeral home on Monday from 9:00am until the time of the service. Interment with military honors will take place at Florida National Cemetery, Bushnell, FL following the funeral service.

George D. Williamson, age 81, of Ocala, FL passed away on May 10, 2009. He was born in Huddy, KY on February 2, 1928. George enlisted in the US Army and served in Korea. After his military service he returned to the states and met the love of his life Audrey whom he married on December 18, 1948. Together they raised two children and were married for 60 years. He worked as a Coalminer in Kentucky and later for General Motors in Michigan. He enjoyed bowling and was very active in church ministry. He is survived by a son Greg Williamson and his wife Judy of Silver Springs, FL; daughter Kay Charette and her husband Clyde of Naples, FL; 4 grandchildren Tom, Lee Ann, Matt and Marc; and 4 great grandchildren Justin, Ryanna, Brock and Cole. He is also survived by brothers Roscoe, John, Donny, Danny, David, Paul and Larry; sisters Christine Ford, Brenda James and Kathy Hackney; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. A funeral service will be held at Hiers-Baxley Funeral Services, 910 E. Silver Springs Blvd, Ocala on Monday, August 31, 2009 at 10:00am.
