John Richard Williamson, 85, of Huddy, KY, passed away Saturday, January 6, 2024, at his residence. John was born March 14, 1938, in Huddy, KY, the son of the late Ben Williamson and Flora Maynard Williamson. John was also preceded in death by his wife, Mary Jane Smith Williamson; his daughters, Denise Williamson Bandy, and Janie Diana Williamson; son-in-law, Dennis Bandy; his siblings, Rell Williamson, Drew Williamson, Roscoe Williamson, Ruth Ratliff, Bertha Holland, and Danny Williamson. John worked in the coal industry as a truck mechanic, and he was a member of the Belfry Freewill Baptist Church for 44 years. Survivors include his son, Richard Williamson of Huddy, KY; siblings, Larry (Betsy) Williamson of Huddy, KY, Christine Ford of Dayton, Ohio, Donnie (Barbara) Williamson of Huddy, KY, Brenda James of Hardy, KY, David (Brenda) Williamson of Huddy, KY, Kathy (Randy) Hackney of McAndrews, KY, and Paul (Tina) Williamson of McAndrews, KY; brother-in-law, Doug Smith of Toler, KY; sister-in-law, Linda Williamson of Huddy, KY; grandchildren, M. Burial will follow in the Mountain View Memory Gardens, Huddy, KY, with his grandchildren and Todd Williamson, Steve Williamson, and Rodney "Boo" Williamson serving as pallbearers. R. E.
