Brigadier General Frank Upton Greer was born to William A. Greer and Cecilia Rebecca Throckmorton Greer in Washington D. C. on September 24, 1895. He was married to May I. Mann. He died suddenly at his home in Gainesville, Florida. Requiem mass was celebrated in Gainesville, Florida. Graveside services at Arlington Cemetery, Section 8. Father of Frank Upton Jr., Charles F, Rebecca E, Thomas Upton and May I Greer.

BG Greer was commissioned a First lieutenant, 1917 and advanced through the grades to Brigadier General in 1943.
