Obituary from Providence Journal April 5 2016.
This was written by her daughters Mary Ann and Peggy.

MARY "GENE" (GREER) 94, formerly of North Providence, died April 3, 2016 at St. Antoine Residence. She was the wife of the late Eugene Plante and the late Patrick McCaskey. Born in Washington, D.C., she was a daughter of the late US Army Brigadier General Francis Upton Greer and May (Mann) Greer.

(NOTE): The original obituary in the Providence Journal shows Charles as her father, this is obviously a mistake . Brigadier General Frank Upton Greer is her father. This Change made by Bob Rainbolt.

After the death of her first husband, Mary worked in a flower shop for many years. Upon marrying Eugene, she furthered her education and became a Health and Physical Education teacher at North Providence High School until retiring. Mary was an active parishioner of the former St. Lawrence Church, Centredale, where she was a lector, Eucharistic Minister, and sang in the choir. She also sang for the Providence Civic Chorale. Mary, along with her husband Eugene, belonged to the Secular Order of Carmelites in Barrington. She also volunteered at the Fruit Hill Day Care and the Franciscan Missionaries of Mary and belonged to the North Providence Senior Center.

She was a watercolor artist and prolific knitter. She is survived by two daughters, Maryanne Brindamour and Margaret Miller, six stepdaughters, Lucille Lambert, Theresa Plante, Claudette Sunty, Jeannine Rainbolt, Denise Russell, and Jacqueline Armitage, 22 grandchildren, many great-grandchildren, and a sister, Rebecca Greer. She was predeceased by five brothers. She was greatly loved and will be sadly missed by both relatives and those whose lives she touched throughout her entire life.
