Melba is the daughter of Julius Nathaniel Kendall and Alice Lenora Georgeson. She married Orval Arave 2 March 1927 in Farmington, Utah. They had three children. She served an LDS mission to England in 1962-1963 and served as a temple worker in the Ogden Temple for five years. She lived most of her life in the Roy, Utah area.
