Arthur W. Duecker, 63, of 815 7th St., Kiel, a former member of the Manitowoc County Board, died this morning at St. Nicholas Hospital after a short illness.
He was born on July 26, 1892, on the Duecker homestead farm north of Kiel, the son of the late Mr. and Mrs. Charles Duecker. He attended school in Kiel and graduated from Kiel High School with the Class of 1910. After that he spent several years in Milwaukee.
He was married to the former Meta Freitag, of Chilton, and the couple resided in Sheboygan Falls until the early 1920's when they moved to Kiel. There he operated a motor oil and gasoline truck route for Standard Oil Co. until 1934 when he established his own oil and gas distribution business. He retired in 1947.
His first wife died on Nov. 16, 1931. He was married to the former Leone Arnold, of Kiel, on April 5, 1933. She is the only survivor. He was also preceded in death by a brother, and a sister.
Besides an affiliation with the county board he was a member of the E.R.A. Lodge, of Kiel, and also a member of the Kiel Chamber of Commerce and past secretary of that organization.
