Asheville Citizen Times Thur Mar 3, 1933 - Mrs. Mary Rives - Final rites for Mrs. Mary Rives, 84, who died Tuesday at the home of her daughter, Mrs. N.A. Collins, 14 Laurel Loop, will be conducted at 11 o'clock this morning at Brownell-Groce funeral home. The Rev. J.B. Grice will officiate. Burial will be in the family plot in the cemetery of Riverview Methodist church. Pallbearers, grandsons of Mrs. Rives, will be Hugh, Robert, George, and Nick E. Collins, F.H. Rymer and L.J. Brookshire. Mrs. Rives had made her home with her daughter since coming here seven months ago from Washinton, D.C. She is survived by five daughters, Mrs. Collins, Mrs. Warren Watts of Montclair, NJ, Mrs. Edna Duke, Mrs. Mayme Frank, and Mrs. E.M. Edwards, all of Washington, D.C; and three sons, J.W. Rives of Candler, the Rev. J.J. Rives of Washington, DC and Henry Rives of New York.
