Hannah was the daughter of John Compton and Phebe Tombs.
She married Edmond Wattis in England abt 1824 and they became the parents of four known children: John, Edmond Orsis, Mary Ann and Henry. Emigrated from England to USA. Edmond died 9 September 1844 in Nauvoo, Illinois and she was left a widow.
On 6 Nov 1845 she married Elam Cheney in Nauvoo. They came to Utah by wagon train in the Jedediah M. Grant/Willard Snow Company in 1847 along with Hannah's two sons, John and Edmond Wattis. Hannah and Elam became the parents of two known children: Hannah and Hannah Matilda.
