Daniel Earl "Leo" Biggs, the twelve-year-old son of Mr. and Mrs. William Sanford Biggs of Georgetown, died Saturday morning, following an attack of lockjaw. The funeral was held Sunday afternoon, with interment in Beulah Baptist Cemetery at Fruitland.

Two brothers, two sisters and his parents survive, and to the sorrowing relatives is extended the sincere sympathy of the entire community. (Palatka Times-Herald Obituary dtd Friday, 8 Jul 1927.)

The angel of death never cast a more somber shadow over loving hearts than when on July second, little Leo, the young son of Mr. and Mrs. William Biggs, was suddenly stricken and called to mansions of light above.

Litte Leo in his last hour of earthly life, as angels were beckoning his soul away, quoted several passages of scripture. Among them the beautiful lines found in the beginning of the Fourteenth Chapter of St. John: "Let not your heart be troubled; Ye believe in God believe also in me. In my Father's house are many mansions."

It is fitting that we think of Leo as not dead, but alive forevermore in the joyous Kingdom of God. Leo was a lovable boy, loyal and devoted always to both family and friends.

It was his heart's ambition to become a missionary to foreign fields and a vision as of hopes fulfilled, seemed to be his as he sweetly passed away. (Palatka Times-Herald Obituary dtd Friday, 29 Jul 1927.). Child of William Sanford Biggs
