The children show up in the Reform, Pickens County, Alabama 1850 census as orphans in various neighboring farms of John Arendale, Vardey Carden, and Richard Banks. Tom married Synthia Elizabeth Arendale (Arnold)1840-1919, daughter of Nathan Arendale 25 Jul 1865. Their children were Ella E., William Curtis, Maud Lee, Walter Edgar, Jeenie E., and Early (Gurly).
