Youngest son of George C. Branch and Elizabeth McCracken. The family moved to Jefferson, Alabama from Habersham County, Georgia between 1830-1840. Tom's parents died sometime between 1840 and 1848. The children show up in the Reform, Pickens County, Alabama 1850 census as orphans in various neighboring farms of John Arendale, Vardey Carden, and Richard Banks. Tom married Synthia Elizabeth Arendale (Arnold)1840-1919, daughter of Nathan Arendale 25 Jul 1865. Their children were Ella E., William Curtis, Maud Lee, Walter Edgar, Jeenie E., and Early (Gurly). Tom was a blacksmith in Reform, Pickens County, Alabama until they moved to Mississippi to live with son. [email protected]
