Funeral Services Held Monday Afternoon.
Marengo - Mrs. Mollie Jordan, 67, passed away Friday evening at 6:30 at the Watts Hospital in Marengo. Mrs. Jordan was the fifth child of a family of ten children, daughter of Daniel and Mollie Resland Grimm. She was born near Morley, Jones County, Iowa, March 3, 1875. She spent her early childhood and received her early schooling there. Her parents moved to a home near Millersburg. At the age of twelve she united with the church known then as the Hope Chapel, but is now the Community Church.
On March 4, 1895, she was married to Chris Fisher who passed away March 3, 1911. To this union was born one daughter who passed away in infancy.
On December 10, 1912, she was married to William Riley Jordon. For a time they lived in Montezuma, but in 1939 they moved to Marengo. Mr. Jordan passed away at Marengo in June, 1941.
Those who mourn her passing are, two sisters: Mrs. Ida Adams, Wheaton, Kansas; Mrs. Ona Holderness, Deep River, Iowa. Four brothers: Henry Grimm, Perkins, Oklahoma; Dan Grimm, Waterloo, Iowa; Louis Grimm, Garrison and Charles Grimm, Marion; a step-son W.F. Jordan, What Cheer, Iowa; and a number of nieces and nephews.
A short service was held at the Cranford and Harrison Funeral Home in Marengo, Monday afternoon at 1:00 pm. Services were hold at the Community Church near Millersburg, with Rev. George E. Steele conducting the services. Burial was at the Goldenrod Cemetery near Deep River, Iowa.
