MACDOUGAL COYOTE JR. "MAC"
Funeral services for lifelong Cortez resident and local artist, MacDougal Coyote Jr. "Mac" will be held at 10 a.m. on Wednesday, May 6 at the Cortez First Assembly of God Church. Interment will follow at Cortez Cemetery. Mac was born on October 26, 1954 in Cortez the son of MacDougal Coyote Sr. and Betty Ann Harrison. He passed away on Thursday, April 30, 2009 at his residence at the age of 54. Mac attended grade school and junior high in the Cortez area. He went on to graduate from Montezuma-Cortez High in 1973. Mac married Cecelia Mae Kee on December 13, 1987 in Cortez. Surviving Mac are his wife, Cecelia Coyote of Cortez; and his children, Corporal Isaac Ray Coyote, who is currently serving in the U.S. Marines and Faith Kayla Coyote of Cortez. Mac also leaves behind his siblings, Jolanda Jacket and husband, Scott of Cortez, Jonathan Dinae and wife, Rhonda of Cortez, Montgomery "Monty" Coyote of Ignacio, Colo., and Marvin Phillip Coyote of Cortez. Mac was preceded in death by his parents; and by his siblings, Marilyn Coyote, Michael D. Coyote, and Mark A. Coyote.
