Nannie Gertrude Meadows, 88, died Sunday, January 19 in Canadian.

Services were held at 2:30 p.m. Tuesday in First Baptist Church in Wheeler, Rev. M.B. Smith, retired pastor from Pampa, officiated. Burial was in Wheeler Cemetery by Wright Funeral Home.

Mrs. Meadows was born in Fannin County and came to Wheeler County with her family in 1912. She was married to Allen Meadows in 1915 in Wheeler. He died in 1978. They moved to Hemphill County in 1920 and lived there until moving to Wheeler in 1969. She was a Baptist.

Survivors include three sons, Roy and Elvin, both of Briscoe, and Cecil of Wheeler; three daughters, Lorene Vise of Canadian, Frances Hefley of Wheeler and Dollie Mooney of Rapid City, S.D.; a brother, Pete Cole of Pampa; five sisters, Amilee Turcotte, Lucille Burns, Velma Johnson, all of Pampa, Annie Ruth Lee of Wheeler and Trula Galmor of Canadian; 21 grandchildren, 39 great grandchildren and a great-great-grandson.

Pallbearers were grandsons: Bill Cox, Dennis Hefley, Dean Meadows, Eddie Meadows, Mark Meadows, Mike Meadows.
