Allen Meadows, 89, died Tuesday August 8, 1978 in Wheeler, Texas.

Services were held at 3:00 p.m. Thursday at the First Baptist Church of Wheeler. Burial will be in Wheeler Cemetery by Wright Funeral Home. Mr. Meadows was born in Wise County then moved to the Wheeler area in 1911. He married Nannie Gertrude Cole in 1915 at Wheeler. He was a farmer, rancher, and cattle trader. He was a member of the Gageby Baptist Church.

Survivors include his wife, three sons, Roy, Cecil, and Elvin all of Briscoe, Texas. Three daughters, Mrs. Lorene Vise of Canadian, Texas, Mrs. Frances Helfley of Wheeler, Texas, and Mrs. Dollie Mooney of Rapid City, South Dakota; one brother, Tom Meadows of Paradise; and a sister, Esther Golaz of Paradise. Also 21 grandchildren and 19 great grandchildren.

Allen Meadows, 89, died Tuesday, August 8, 1978 after spending 20 months in Parkview Hospital in Wheeler.

Services will be at 3 p.m. Thursday, August 10 at the First Baptist Church in Wheeler. Officiating at the services will be Rev. M.B. Smith of Pampa. Burial will be in Wheeler Cemetery by Wright Funeral Home.

Mr. Meadows was born in Wise County on May 15, 1889 and moved to the Wheeler and Canadian area in 1911. He married Nannie Gertrude Cole in 1914 at Wheeler. He spent his life as a farmer, rancher and cattle buyer.

He was a member of the Baptist Church.

Survivors include his wife, Nannie Gertrude of Wheeler; three sons, Roy, Cecil and Elvin, all of Briscoe; three daughters, Mrs. Lorene Vise of Canadian, Mrs. Frances Hefley of Wheeler and Dollie Mooney of Rapid City, S.D.; a brother, Tom of Paradise; one sister, Mrs. Esther Golaz of Paradise, Texas; 21 grandchildren and 19 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by one son in 1925.

The grandsons will serve as pallbearers. Honorary Pallbearers will be Gober Mitchell, Pat Huff, Roy Waters, K.D. Doughit, Leon Fillingim and Malouf Abraham.
