MESA, ARIZONA - Services for Dr. Lisle J. Adams, 88, of Mesa, retired Oral Surgeon, will be held at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, Feb. 5, 1997, at the Church of Jssus Christ of Latter-day Saints, Lehi 5th Ward, 2220 N. Harris. Dr. Adams died Saturday, Feb. 1, 1997, in Mesa of conditions incident of age.
Visitation was Tuesday and one hour before the service on Wednesday at Bunker's Garden Chapel, 33 N. Centennial Way, Mesa. Burial will be in the Mesa City Cemetery.
Dr. Adams was born in Thatcher, Utah, and received his teaching certificate from Utah State University. He taught school for seven years, serving six years as principal in Thatcher and Howell, Utah. He and his young family moved to Los Angeles, California, in 1935 where he studied dentistry at the University of Southern California. He was an oral surgeon in Burbank, California, for 38 years. He and his wife moved to Mesa in 1982.
He served his Church in many leadership positions including Elder's Quoium President, High Councilor, High Priest Quorum President, and Young Men's President. Dr. Adams was an Eagle Scout and served over thirty years in Scouting. He was a member of the American Dental Association and was awarded membership in the Omicron Kappa Epsilon and Alpha Tau Epsilon Fraternities for scholarship and leadership.
Survivors include his wife, Lola Gunnell Adams; sons Dr. Kent and Dr. Delos, both of Ogden Utah, and Rollin of Mesa; daughters Galene Randall of Mesa, and Deanne Taylor of Pleasant Grove, Utah; brother Oral Adams of Wellsville, Utah; 30 grandchildren, 46 great-grandchildren, and one great-great-grandson.
