CHILLICOTHE -- Grace L. Colwell, 89, formerly of 1421 N. Birren St., died at 10:02 a.m. Sunday, May 31, 1998, at Galena Park Home in Peoria Heights.

Born Nov. 17, 1908, in Chillicothe Township, Peoria County, to Louis and Louisa Charvatte [Charvat] Stotler, she married Harry L. Colwell on Feb. 1, 1927, in Chillicothe. He died Aug. 9, 1989, in Chillicothe.

One son, Harry Jr., three sisters, one brother and one grandson also preceded her in death.

Surviving are five sons, Miles of Glasford, Charles of Peck, Idaho, Kenneth of Sparland, Wayne of Chillicothe and Ralph of Genesee, Idaho; four daughters, Mrs. Edward (Mary) Bireline and June Vonk, both of Chillicothe, Mrs. Bernard (Bonnie) Dick of Pekin and Mrs. Alvin (Nancy) Smolinski of Weippe, Idaho; one brother, Earl Stotler of Chillicothe; two sisters, Goldie Thielbar of Sparland and Mildred Massie of Okeechobee, Fla.; 50 grandchildren; 82 great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren.

She formerly attended Blue Ridge Methodist Church.

Services will be at 1 p.m. Thursday at Davison-Fulton Anderson Chapel. The Revs. Tom Schrock and Don Robins will officiate. Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at the chapel. Burial will be in Blue Ridge Cemetery.
