Bridget Elizabeth Gormley was born about 1825 in Ireland to parents Hugh Gormley and Katie Harry. Very little is known about her parents. Spelling of this family's name varies on different documents - Grumley, Gromley, and Ghormley.

(Bridget) Elizabeth has reported on different census that she came to the US in 1850 and lived in Maryland. There, on May 1, 1852, she married John Bradley, born in Ireland (1824-1896).

John and Elizabeth lived in Harford County, Maryland where John worked as a laborer. Elizabeth is listed in the 1910 census as having had 8 children, 4 living at that time in 1910. Their five known children are: Mary Bradley (1853-1926), Catherine Bradley-Carroll (1855-1920), John Bradley, Jr. (1859-bef.1870), Michael Henry Bradley (1862-1939), and Elizabeth Bradley (1869-1939), all born in Maryland.

About 1869, John and Elizabeth and their children moved and settled in Cambria County, Pennsylvania where John worked as a coal miner.

After her husband died in 1896, Elizabeth remained in Lilly, Pennsylvania until she died in 1919. Both are buried in the St. Brigid Cemetery along with two of their children.
