"Capitalist's Son Weds - Lee Recor Marries Bertha Peterson at Marine City - Nov 25 - Lee Recor and Miss Bertha Peterson were married at 6 o'clock this evening, at the home of the bride, Rev. F. M. Gilchrist performing the ceremony. A. A. Strauss and Miss Selva Peterson attended the couple. The groom is the only son of Lambert Recor, capitalist of this city, and the bride is the daughter of the late Captain Peterson, and has been engaged in high school work for the past four years. Both are graduates of Marine City High School in the same class. They left for Syracuse for a wedding trip, and will make Marine City their home. The wedding is a culmination of a high school romance." Detroit Free Press, Thursday, November 26, 1908

"Mrs. Bertha M. Recor, 89, died Monday in Faith Medical Center after a long illness. The former Bertha Peterson, she was born August 23, 1884, in Frankfort, Michigan. She married Lee Recor in Marine City. He died in 1926. Mrs. Recor was retired after having been an educator for 30 years. She was a former principal of Ward-Cottrell School, Marine City. Mrs. Recor was a member of the First United Methodist Church, Marine City. She is survived by a son Ralph; a brother Ralph; two sisters, Christine and Selma; and five grandchildren." (Port Huron Times Herald, Wednesday, January 30, 1974)

Bertha and Lee had three sons, Lee, Ralph and Loren.
