Samuel Clay Gatrell, 72, of 1100 Maple Courts Apts., died at 10:40 p.m. Saturday (Dec 21, 1985) at Guernsey Memorial Hosptal. He was born June 30, 1913, in Doddridge County, W.Va. a son of the late Daniel and Annabell Stubbs Gatrell. He leaves nine sons,Thomas Gatrell, Jerry Gatrell and Eddie Gatrell, all of New Cumberland, W.Va., James Gatrell of Michigan, Robert Gatrell of Missouri, Allen Gatrell of Raleigh, N.C., Terry Gatrell and David Gatrell, both of Cambridge and Danny Gatrell of Indian Camp; a sister, Madeline Oakley of Columbus; several grandchildren; several great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. One brother and a sister are deceased. Friends may call from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 today at Thorn Funeral Home, where services will be at 2:30 p.m. Tuesday with the Rev. Kenneth Parrish officiating. Burial will be in Northwood Cemetrey.
