Mr. Huckaby was born Dec. 26, 1932 in Lincoln County and was retired from Ingalls Shipbuilding at a Senior Design Engineer after 35 years of service. He was a Supervisor with CDI Marine. He was a member and former church bus driver at Ingalls Avenue Baptist Church of Pascagoula and was a former Captain with the Pascagoula Police Reserve.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Julius S. Huckaby and Ruth Leggett Huckaby; four brothers, Lennox Huckaby, Aubrey Huckaby, J.C. Huckaby and Claude Huckaby; and a sister, Lucille Reeves.
Survivors include his wife, Shirley Berry Huckaby of Pascagoula; two sons, Stephen Huckaby and Jeffrey Huckaby, both of Pascagoula; two daughters, Lisa Sanders of Pascagoula and Teresa Burrows of Gulfport; a brother, Bob Huckaby; three sisters, Mabel Wallace and Mamie Huckaby, all of Bogue Chitto, and Mattie Brown of Escatawpa; and six grandchildren.
Visitation will be from 6 to 9 tonight at Holder-Wells Funeral Home in Moss Point. A service will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at the funeral home chapel with burial in Machpelah Cemetery in Pascagoula.
