Services will be at 2 p.m. Friday in First Baptist Church with the Rev. Dennis Williams, pastor, and the Rev. Harold Rhodes, pastor of First Baptist Church in Dimmitt, officiating. Burial will be in Wheeler Cemetery by Wright Funeral Home.
Mrs. Hughes was born Feb. 2, 1919, in Cloud Chief, Okla., to Walter and Rillie Rhodes. She married Claude C. Cox in 1934 in Carnegie, Okla., and later married J.W. "Jim" Hughes in 1980 in Wheeler.
Survivors include three sons, Claude Cox Jr. of Blanket, James Glenn Cox of Smyer and Marvin Cox of Amarillo; two daughters, Joyce Perkins of Wheeler and Jeraldine Pride of Arlington; a brother, J.B. Rhodes of Carnegie; 19 grandchildren; and 27 great-grandchildren.
The family suggests memorials be to Odyssey Health Care, 1000 S. Jefferson St., Amarillo, TX 79101.
