John Foster Brookman, 41, of Wright Township Mountaintop, died Friday afternoon, Jan. 16, 2004, at Community Medical Center, Scranton, PA, from injuries sustained when struck by a car Sunday, Jan. 11, 2004. Born in Pulaski, on June 25, 1962, he was the son of Anna (Jacobson) Brookman & the late Willie G. Brookman. He was educated in Indianapolis schools and was a graduate of Washington High School Class of 1980 and the ITT Technical Institute of Indianapolis, receiving a degree in electronics in 1993. He was employed by Ultra Tech Stepper Company of San Jose, Calif. He was positioned at Fairchild Semiconductor Mountaintop Industrial Park for the past eight years. He was the lead singer and leader of 4-Play, a local mountaintop band. He is preceded in death by brothers, William and Robert Eanes and Gene and George Brookman. Surviving are his wife of 17 years, Paula F. Brookman; daughter, Andrea Nicole Brookman; sisters, Sara Parks, Tempe, AZ, Ruth Vollrath, Indianapolis, IN, Juanita Gay Sparks, Indianapolis, IN, Faye Hoffman, Newbern, VA; brother, Wayne Brookman, Dublin, VA; mother, Anna (Jacobson) Brookman. Funeral services will be held Wednesday at 2 p.m from Stevens Funeral Chapel, Pulaski with the pastor Robert Martin officiating. Burial will follow in Oakwood Cemetery, Pulaski. Visiting will be Wednesday at Stevens Funeral Home where the family will receive friends from 1 p.m. until the service hour and after the services at the home of his brother, Wayne Brookman, 5755 Rigney Drive, Highland Park, Dublin, Va. Arrangements were handled locally by Stevens Funeral Home, Inc., Pulaski, VA.
