MRS. MILLIE GILBERT WELLER
Millie Gilbert, daughter of Jake and Sarah Gilbert, was born near Melrose, Monroe county, Iowa, on September 5, 1893, and departed this life after an illness of two week's duration, on September 10, 1935, at the age of 42 years and 5 days.
Her early life was spent in Melrose, but in 1925 she moved to Albia where she has since made her home. She was married to Ralph Weller on April 16, 1914. To this union four children were born, all of whom are living. They are: Selby, Helen, Kenneth, all at home, and Mrs. Ruth Watkins, of Excelsior Springs, Mo.
Besides her children she is survived by her mother, Mrs. Sarah Gilbert of Chariton and three sisters, Miss Maisey Gilbert and Mrs. Cora Adcock of Chariton, and Mrs. Effie Anderson of Humeston. Her father, one brother and one sister preceded her in death.
She accepted Christ early in life and united with the United Brethren church and lived a devoted christian life. She was a loving mother, her first thoughts always being of her home and children, and her greatest pleasure was in aiding others. Not only was she loved by her children and relatives but by all who knew her.
Funeral services were held at the United Brethren church in Albia, Thursday afternoon, conducted by the pastor, Rev. G. E. McCanon, and burial was in the LaGrange cemetery.
