Earl Clinton Acton, age 75, of Wellford, SC, died November 6, 1990 in Spartanburg Regional Medical Center.

A native of Sevierville, TN; son of Vineyard M Gaddis (1875–1928) and Stella Delores Acton (1887–1962); husband of Lou Anna Blackwell Acton (1915–1996).

A member of Jackson Mill Baptist Church, retried from J.P. Stevens, Appalache Plant, and was a World War II Navy veteran.

Also survived by sons, Lee Talmadge Acton (1935–1997) and Wayne Acton; daughters, Margie Ruth Acton Henderson (1937–2014), Blanche Acton Hollifield, and Martha Ann Acton Leonard; ten grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.

Visitation was held at Wood Mortuary, Greer, SC.

Services were held at Jackson Mill Baptist Church by Dr. Bill Poore and Rev. John Payne; burial in Fort Prince Memorial Gardens.
