Interment: Immediately following the funeral service on Tuesday, March 17, 2009 at the Newton Memorial Park Cemetery in Newton.
Those left to honor Lucille's memory are her two daughters, Valee (Art) Wood of Colorado Springs, Colorado, and JoAnn (Roger) Hinshaw of Newton; three grandchildren, Duane De Penning of Seattle, Washington, Tony (Dawn) Renaud of Newton, Missy (Doug) Miller of Newton; granddaughter-in-law, Janine DePenning of Baxter; her six great-grandchildren, Remington and Paige DePenning of Baxter, KharrenCella DePenning of Portland, Oregon, Jordan Foreman of Newton, and Alex and Nathan Miller of Newton; three brothers, Leo (Nellie) Vande Krol of Pella, Iowa, Lehrl (Ruth) Vande Krol of Montezuma, Iowa, Dan (Sandy) Vande Krol of Sully, Iowa; sister-in-law, Margaret Vande Krol of Sully, Iowa; and her many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, John and Lillian (Kruseman) Vande Krol; step mother, Edna Vande Krol; her husband, Mart in December of 1963; grandson, Del De Penning in 2005; her brothers, Russell and Lloyd Vande Krol; and her sister, Treva Meppelink.
Lucille was a cook for the TKE Fraternity at ISU in Ames, Iowa for many years, retiring in 1985.
Lucille enjoyed cooking, especially for "her boys" of the TKE Fraternity, she also enjoyed embroidering, cross stitch, and doing Find-A-Word puzzles.
Lucille was a member of the First Assembly of God Church.
