Mary Louise Klumpp is believed to have been born in 1854, as that is the year on her death certificate and in her father's pension files. However, her tombstone lists the birth year as 1853. She went by her middle name of Louise for most of her life. She was the oldest child in a family with 10 siblings.

Louise Klumpp married Joseph P. Pfohl in 1875, and their only child, daughter Mary Louise Pfohl was born in 1876.

Louise Pfohl died on October 14, 1944 at her home at 141 E. Corning Avenue in Syracuse. The cause of death was old age, she was 91 years old.

The following obituary for Louise was printed in the Syracuse Newspaper:

Mrs. Louise Pfohl, 91, died yesterday afternoon at the home of her daughter, Mrs. George T. Cady, 141 E. Corning Ave. She was a member of the South Presbyterian Church. Besides her daughter, Mrs. Pfohl is survived by one grandson, Joseph G. Cady; three brothers, Louis, Fred and Alman Klumpp, all of Weedsport, and two sisters, Mrs. Fred Tanner of Waterloo and Mrs. Nathan Bennett of Weedsport. Services will be at 2pm Tuesday at the home of Mrs. Cady with Rev. John M. Steel officiating. Burial will be in Weedsport Rural Cemetery.
