Funeral services will be at 2:30 p.m. today at Moores Funeral Home, with the Rev. David Dickens officiating. Burial will be in Garland Cemetery in Hancock County.
Mr. Garland, a native and resident of Hancock County, was a local farmer and retired employee of Central State Hospital. He was a member of Linton Methodist Church. He was preceded in death by his son Jimmy Garland.
Survivors include his wie of 63 years, Elsie Mae Boyer Garland of Sparta; four sons, Tommy Garland and wife, Brenda, and Theo Garland and wife, Sharon, all of Milledgeville, Gene Garland of Appling, and Ronny Garland and wife, Jan, of Sparta; a daughter, Doris Garland of Sparta; a daughter-in-law, Phyllis Garland of Sparta; 16 grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren.
