First settled in Hingham; moved to Boston in 1641. Died between 7 February 1649[/50?] (date of deed) and 31 October 1650 (probate of will).
Married by about 1615, Sarah _____. She married (2) after 11 July 1654 GEORGE HULL {1632, Dorchester}. She died shortly before 25 August 1659 (date of inventory).
On 13 September 1642, six men witnessed a deed made in New England by JOHN SIBLEY {1634, Salem} regarding land he had held in Bradpole, Dorset [Aspinwall 162-63]. The last three of these witnesses were "Raph Sprage [of] Forington, David Phippeni of Weymouth, Nicholas Upsall of Dorchester." RALPH SPRAGUE {1629, Charlestown} was from Fordington St. George, Dorset. NICHOLAS UPSALL {1630, Dorchester} was from Dorchester, Dorset. In the act of witnessing, David Phippen was identifying his English parish of origin.
