John W. Ditto, 69, died suddenly at nine o'clock Saturday morning at his home in Maryville of a stroke of apoplexy. He was apparently in the best of health and had done his usual chores before breakfast.

Mr. Ditto was born Nov. 24, 1866, the son of Mr. and Mrs. Andrew Jackson Ditto [Ellen Wright] at Keithsburg, Ill. He was a member of the Christian church and the Royal Neighbors Lodge at Gravity.

Surviving are the widow, Mrs. Hattie [Richards] Ditto, three daughters, Mrs. Fred Borden [Georgia Mae Ellen] and Mrs. Earl Farnham both of Sharpsburg, and Mrs. Zelda Heaton of Bedford; one son, Roscoe W. Ditto of Loon Lake, Sask., Canada, seventeen grandchildren and one great grandchild.

The funeral services were held at the home last Thursday afternoon of last week, conducted by the Rev. W. M. Wickizer. Burial was in the Gravity cemetery.
