The former Julia George was born May 25, 1866, in Sheldon, N. Y., the daughter of Peter and Catherine George. She was united in marriage to Mr. Brill of New Holstein at the Osage Mission, now St. Paul, Kansas.
The couple spent five years on a farm in Kansas and then moved to Stockbrldge for a year. They spent two years on a farm in the town of New Holstein, then moved to a town of Russell farm, spent fouryears on a town of Rhine farm, went back to Russell in 1900 to live on a farm now owned by their son Norbert and in 1917 came to the present residence here.
While in Russell her husband served as town clerk for 12 years and school clerk for nine years. He was deputy food administrator herefor a number of years, justice of peace for three years and retired as city clerk some time ago.
The couple celebrated their golden wedding anniversary in 1936.
Survivors are her husband, five sons and one daughter, Isadore, of Neenah, Norbert of Elkhart Lake, Evarist and Raymond of Milwaukee, Arthur of Kiel, and Mrs. Henry (Lucy) Michels, of Fond du Lac; 10 grandchildren; two sisters, Mrs. Leopold Brill, New Holstein, andSr. Mary of the Compassion, Helena, Mont.; and one brother Joseph of Idaho Falls, Idaho.
