William Freeman, 64, a resident of Sidney for several years, died at Lincoln Tuesday afternoon, according to word received here by his cousin, Mrs. George Masse.

Mr. Freeman, a Spanish-American war veteran, had gone to the veterans hospital at Cheyenne for treatment about three months ago. Later, when it was decided that an operation might be necessary, he was transferred to the hospital at Lincoln.

Mr. Freeman was well known in Sidney and was the owner of local property. He had been active in the local Veterans of Foreign Wars post.

It is understood that burial will be in the veterans cemetery at Fort Leavenworth, Kan.
