Admiral Nelson Peckham passed away at the age of 86 after a brief illness. He was a WWII veteran and fought for his country in Germany and Japan.

He was a painting contractor in Bakersfield and Fresno for many years.

Nelson was a spiritual man who loved God, his family and his church. He was an elder at Church of Living Water for more than 20 years.

He was an avid sportsman and spent many wonderful hours hunting and fishing with his wife Betty and many friends.

His best friend and loving wife of 63 years, Betty, preceded Nelson in death.

He is survived by his son, Nelson Peckham and his wife Linda; his daughter Darlene; grandsons, Robert Haas and Danny Peckham; granddaughters, Tamara Pittenger, Michelle Haas and Kimberly Peckham; 11 great-grandchildren, and two great-great grandchildren. His brothers, Archie, and Earl Peckham also survive him.

A Gravesite Service will be held at Clovis Cemetery on Friday, May 1, 2009, at 2:00 p.m.

A Celebration of Nelson's Life will be held at Church of Living Water on Monday, May 3, 2009, at 6:00 p.m.
