Hope died April 25, 2009. The youngest of five children, she was born April 16, 1918, in Haskell County, to the late R.L and Alice Livengood.
Preceding her in death were two sisters and two brothers. She was the wife of the late Rev. Grady M. Adcock. They were married June 27, 1936, in Haskell County. For 40 years, she served with her husband in the ministry of his various Methodist church appointments. After his retirement, they became active members of the First United Methodist church in Lubbock, where she participated in the United Methodist Church Women's Circle, Friendly Reviewers Study Club, and Friendship Sunday School Class. She was also a past member of the Eastern Star.
After earning a teaching degree from National Louis University in Evanston, Ill., she taught until 1979. She then became a member of the retired teacher association.
Survivors include three children, Linda and husband, Dr. Carl Andersen of Lubbock, Judy and husband Ray Max Grimmett, of Snyder, and Stan and wife, Carole Adcock of Lubbock; grandchildren, Becky and husband Clark Richards, Mark and wife, Kendra Andersen, Chad and wife, Carolyn Grimmett, Ashleigh Adcock, Kimber Adcock; and great-grandchil-dren, Jus-tin, Erik, and Katy Richards, Kash and McCall Andersen, Madison, Raylee, and Chandler Grimmett.
