Stephen Paul Bingham, 56, Topeka, died Sun., April 26, 2009, at Westwood Manor. He was born April 2, 1953, in Garden City, the son of Neville and Arlene (Corrigan) Bingham.

Stephen had served in the Job Corps and U.S. Navy. He was a self-employed carpenter and roofer.

Surviving are his mother; Arlene Bingham of Topeka; 2 sisters: Diana R. Wagner of Topeka and Vicky L. Swaim and husband, Richard L., of Silver Lake; 2 nieces; and a nephew.

Funeral services will be at 1:00 P.M., Wed., April 29, 2009, at Penwell-Gabel Parker-Price Chapel, 245 NW Independence.

A U.S. Navy Honor Detail will conduct military services at Mount Hope Cemetery. Stephen will lie in state after 3:00 PM, Tues., at the funeral chapel where the family will receive friends from 7:00 to 8:00 PM.
