Alice Driscoll Nofsinger, 80, most recently of Middleton, Wis., passed away April 14, 2009, surrounded by her loving family.

Prior to living in Middleton, Alice had been a resident of Midland, Michigan. The former Alice Discoll was born on Aug. 14, 1928, the daughter of Earl Driscoll and Martha (Lewis) Driscoll. She grew up in La Farge, Wis. on a dairy farm. She graduated from La Farge High School in 1945 and married James Jensen of La Farge.

James and Alice Jensen had five children. Alice married Eldon Nofsinger in 1959.

They moved to Rockford, Ill., where Alice worked primarily as a legal secretary and Eldon worked for Woodward Governor. They had two children. They bought a cabin on Long Lake in Northern Wis. and enjoyed summers and vacations there for many years. Alice was fond of boating and loved reading murder mysteries on the porch of the cabin, where she could gaze out over the lake. She liked playing word games, dominoes and card games.

Alice was survived by one brother, Alan Driscoll; six children, Sam Dutenhoefer of Monroe, Wis., Kathy Wojick of Viroqua, Wis., Elaine Bowen of South Berwick, Maine, Valerie Ballard of Fitchburg, Wis., Scott Nofsinger of Midland and Jodi Nofsinger of Portland, Maine; 17 grandchildren, including Logan, Leah and Lucas Nofsinger of Midland; 12 great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.

Alice Nofsinger was predeceased by her parents; two brothers, Pat Driscoll and Andrew Driscoll; two sisters, Lagatha French and Lucille Marshall; her son, Jerel Nofsinger; and two grandchildren.

Funeral: Holy Family Catholic Church in Rockford, Ill. Burial at Dayton Corners in Richland Center, Wis. alongside her sister Lucille.

We will miss her hove, her laughter and her wit.
