Graveside services for J.M. Howard, 100, of Lubbock will be at 1 p.m. Thursday in Goree Cemetery with the Rev. John Ballard officiating.
Burial is under the direction of Archer Funeral Home.
He died Monday, Nov. 8, 1999, in Lubbock.
He was born Sept. 22, 1899, in Wise County. He married Lillie Mae Beatty on Oct. 21, 1921, in Seymour. She died Aug. 21, 1990. He received his mortician's license in 1935. He worked as a funeral director at Seymour Mercantile and Archer Funeral Home. He moved to Lubbock in 1986. He was a member of First Baptist Church and Grand Lodge of Texas IOOF.
Survivors include two sons, Beaty of Lubbock and Wayne of Tampa, Fla.; five grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
