PARALYSIS CAUSES DEATH
Mrs. Alvin Benton Passes Away At Her Home Here.
Mrs. Kate Benton, widow of Alvin Benton, died shortly before 9 p. m. Thursday at her home, 816 west Sandusky avenue. She had been ill little more than 24 hours of paralysis, complicated by a lung condition.
Mrs. Benton was born March 26, 1858, in Pennsylvania. She is survived by two married sisters, one living in Akron and one in Covington, Ky., and by three brothers, Louis Maberry, John Maberry and Homer Maberry, all of Kenton. Mr. and Mrs. Benton were the parents of 11 children, six of whom survive. Those remaining are: Ora Benton, of Piqua; Benjamin and Lloyd Benton, of Bellefontaine; Mrs. Myrtle Hughes and Mrs. Leona Pash, of Bellefontaine, and Mrs. Iva Mummey, of Kenton. For some time after her husband's death, in 1912, Mrs. Benton had made her home in Piqua with her son, about three years ago she returned to her home here and remained here since. Besides her brothers and sisters and children, she is survived by a large number of grandchildren and great-grandchildren. The deceased was a member of the Western M. E. church at Kenton at on time, and more recently attended services at the Church of the Nazarene, in this city. Funeral services will be held in the Methodist Episcopal church at Mt. Victory Sunday at 2 p. m. Burial will be made in the Hale cemetery, near Mt. Victory.
