Dorothy Stephens, 82, passed away Friday, January 17, 2014 at Abilene Regional Medical Center. Graveside services will be at 1:00 pm on Wednesday, January 22, 2014 in the Oakwood Cemetery in Honey Grove, Texas. Ray Boles will officiate. Services are under the direction of The Hamil Family Funeral Home, 6449 Buffalo Gap Road.

Dorothy was born June 22, 1931 in Muddig, Texas to Oscar and Ida Mae (Baker) Boles. She attended East Texas State in Commerce, Texas before receiving her Master's degree from the University of Utah. Dorothy taught school for 25 plus years in Stanton, Laredo, near Temple and lastly in Big Spring. She was also a Sunday school teacher at College Baptist Church in Big Spring, where she taught for 25 years. She moved to Tuscola 2 ½ years ago from Edmond, Oklahoma. Dorothy was a member of the Southern Baptist Church.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Davie Stephens in 2003, one sister, Rosalie Smith, and one brother, Jack Boles.

Dorothy is survived by one daughter, Darlene Carroll and husband Kenneth of Nichols Hills, OK; one son, David Stephens and wife Deborah of Tuscola; one brother, Kenneth Boles of Quitman; one sister, June Tinsley of Gun Barrel City; six grandchildren, two great-grandchildren, six nieces and two nephews.

Honorary pallbearers will be Chase Carroll, Braden Carroll, Travis Dean and Christopher Stephens.
