THE PARIS NEWS, Tue., Feb. 6, 1996, p.14A. 'Morton L. 'Tex' Clayton, 77, of Paris died Sunday, Feb. 4, 1996, at St. Joseph's Hospital & Health Center. Services will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 7, in Gene Roden's Sons Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Ross Richardson officiating. Burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 7-8 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home. Mr. Clayton was born Oct. 23, 1918, in Gilmer, a son of William Franklin and Idadora Wilson Clayton. He married Elizabeth H. Velit May 17, 1947. She died in Oct. 1987. He was retired from Trane Air Conditioning in Tyler and had served in the Army. He was a Baptist. Surviving are a son and daughter-in-law, William and Charin Clayton of Paris; a stepson and daughter-in-law, Charles and Helen Caminade of Paris; a niece, Bonnie Sue Phillips of Paris; a sister, Bertha Evans of Paris; these grandchildren: Morgan Elizabeth Clayton, Michelle Gillie, Chrystal Caminade, Dusty Caminade and Richard Alexander Clayton, all of Paris, and Sammy Charles Caminade of Texas City; and three great-grandchildren. Pallbearers will be Ross Alsup, Gary Annis, Richard Broussard, Bob Lalwani, Alex Munoz, David Hamilton, Jerry Shannon and Bobby Smallwood.'
